Man in 400 block of Lakeview Court with gun threatened to kill himself.

A man in the 400 block of Lakeview Court kept Oswego Police at bay for at least two hours Friday, threatening to kill himself with a gun, according to an Oswego Police news release.

Police evacuated the home and closed off nearby streets at about 4 p.m. to ensure the safety of the neighborhood. An Oswego Police negotiator made contact with the man after hours of attempts and he surrendered to police shortly after, the release said. A gun was found at the scene.

The man was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center by an Oswego Fire Protection District ambulance. Police were also assisted by the Kendall County Sheriff's Department and the police's Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, the release said.
