Oswego St. Patrick's Day Crackdown Nets 73 Seat Belt Tickets

Plus, tickets for speeding, no insurance.

Oswego police conducted an IDOT-supported enforcement from March 13 to 17 to remind motorists to buckle up and drive sober as part of a Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over effort.

During the effort, Oswego police issued:

  • 73 seat belt citations
  • 3 uninsured motorist citations
  • 8 speeding citations
  • 3 citations for no valid license/driving on revoked or suspended license.

The Click It or Ticket campaign may be over, but that's no excuse not to buckle up.

"Our officers are out all year long," Capt. Jeff Burgner said. "If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt, day or night, you will be cited for safety violation."
