Over 70 Citations Issued During Police's Latest Traffic Enforcement

The enforcement focused on seat belt violators and drunk driving.

From Nov. 18 – Dec. 1, IDOT supported enforcement to remind motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, both day and night, during the merged Click it or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilizations.

Oswego police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers.

During the mobilization, Oswego Police issued:

  • 71 seat belt citations
  • 1 DUI
  • 2 uninsured motorists
  • 2 speeding citations

The annual Click it or Ticket may be over in Oswego, but that is no excuse to stop wearing your seat belt.

“Our officers are out all year long, If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt, day or night, you will be cited for the safety violation,” said Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner.
