Over 70 Citations Issued in November Extra Traffic Enforcement

The majority was for safety belt violations.

Editor’s Note: The following is taken from a press release issued by the Oswego Police Department:

The Oswego Police Department recently concluded their extra traffic enforcement detail, which was funded through a Step Grant provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The enforcement period, which was conducted between Nov. 12 and Nov. 25 focused on the use of seat belts and child restraints. Police wrote citations for the following violations:

  • 68 – Safety belt
  • 1 – Equipment
  • 1 – Other moving
  • 3 – No valid driver’s license
  • 3 – Suspended/revoked license
  • 1 – Other alcohol related

Oswego Police will continue to apply grants to fund extra patrols, which assist in providing for the safety of those traveling throughout the village.
