Police Announce Results of Stepped Up Patrols

Campaign focused on seat-belt enforcement.

The Oswego Police Department recently concluded their extra traffic enforcement detail, which was funded through a Step Grant provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation.  The enforcement period, which was conducted between March 12 and March 20, focused on the use of seat belts and child restraints.  Police wrote citations for the following violations:

  • 134-Safety Belt
  • 1-Stop Sign
  • 8-Uninsured Motorist
  • 8-Suspended/Revoked License
  • 12-Speeding
  • 1-Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
  • 1-Other Alcohol Related
  • 1-Zero Tolerance
  • 1-Drugs
  • 1-Other Moving

Oswego Police will continue to apply for grants to fund extra patrols, which assist in providing for the safety of those traveling throughout the village.
