Police Blotter: $14,000 in Jewelry Taken

Wednesday, Nov. 23

Major jewelry theft

A resident reported to Wednesday that someone entered a bedroom of a home in the 400 block of Grapevine Trail sometime around the beginning of the month and stole about $14,500 worth of jewelry. No suspect information was given in the police report.

Tuesday, Nov. 22

Battery charge

Ryan Hairgrove, 29, 156 Chicago Road, Oswego, was charged with battery at about midnight Tuesday at the American Legion Hall, according to an Oswego police report. He was given a Dec. 23 court date.

Underage drinking

A 16-year-old Oswego boy was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor at about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday at 4032 Route 34, according to an Oswego police report. He was released to his parents.

Marijuana possession

A male juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2.5 grams at Oswego High School at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to an Oswego police report.

Monday, Nov. 21

Fake $20s passed

Oswego police are investigating the passing of two counterfeit $20 bills at , 4574, Route 71at about 6:30 Monday. The suspect is described as a thin, black male, about 6-feet-tall with reddish hair and wearing an Oakland Raiders jacket.

Saturday, Nov. 19

Skate park graffiti

An employee of the Oswegoland Park District reported that graffiti was again spray-painted on the skate equipment at Chesterfield Park sometime before 9 a.m. Saturday, according to an Oswego police report. The total in damages is unknown.

Wednesday, Nov. 16

Domestic battery

Alfonso T. Alexander, 36, of 42 Rocky Way, Montgomery, was charged with domestic battery at about 11:45 a.m. Nov. 16 at Caterpillar Inc. on Route 31, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report. Deputies were called to Caterpillar for a report of a woman being battered by Alexander, the report said.  He was charged later that night at the sheriff’s office.

Tuesday, Nov. 15

Excessive speeding

Alexander Seaton, 18, of 8 Ridgefield Road, Montgomery was charged with speeding 31-40 mph over the speed limit after being clocked at 75 mph in a 40-mph zone at Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Kendall County Sheriff’s Office report.

Monday, Nov. 14

Underage drinking

A juvenile female was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor at about 2:20 p.m. Nov. 14 at Oswego High School, according to an Oswego police report. She was released to her parents.
