Police Blotter: Drug Arrests, Two Dyson Vacuums Stolen

A weekly blotter of reports from the Oswego Police Department, Oct. 2 – Oct. 7.

Monday, Oct. 8

Retail theft

  • The Oswego Police Department responded to a report of retail theft that occurred at the Oswego Wal-Mart at 4:00 p.m. Two Dyson vacuum cleaners valued at over $1,000 were taken. Police are investigating.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft that occurred at the Oswego Wal-Mart on Oct. 7 at 5:20 p.m. $848 was stolen. Police are investigating.

Sunday, Oct. 7

Possession of marijuana

  • Jillian A. Scott, 23, of the 1200 block of Marshall, Aurora, was arrested at 8:04 p.m. at Route 31 and Century and charged with the possession of cannabis less than 2.5g, said Oswego police. She was also charged with driving with a suspended license.
  • Jeremy Carver, 18, of the 200 block of Washington, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. in the 300 block of Persimmon Lane and charged with the possession of cannabis under 2.5g, said Oswego police. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

In state warrant

Derrick N. Jenkins, 30, of the 2900 block of Worchester Lane, Aurora, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. at Route 34 and Fifth Street and charged with an in state warrant, said Oswego police.

Burglary

  • Oswego police responded to a report of burglary done to a vehicle in Kirkland Circle between Oct. 6 at 9:00 a.m. and Oct. 7 at 7:45 a.m. $200 worth of items were taken from the vehicle and about $300 in damage was done to the vehicle.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of residential burglary that occurred in the 600 block of Charlotte Lane between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. An unknown amount has been reported stolen.

Domestic battery

Deanna J. Hilton, 49, of the 200 block of Ashley Court, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. at her residence and charged with domestic battery, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license

Guillermina Holguin-Hernandez, 39, of the 600 block of Oak Street, Aurora, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. at Route 30 and Wolf Road and charged with driving with no valid driver’s license, said Oswego police.

Saturday, Oct. 6

Retail theft

Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft that occurred at an unknown time in the Oswego Wal-Mart. Unknown suspects reportedly entered a storage area of the store and took 8-10 used car batteries valued at $100. Police are investigating.

Domestic Battery

James E. Parker, 27, of the 0-99 block of Lombardy Lane, was arrested at 1:31 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said Oswego police.

Unlawful possession of cannabis, no valid driver’s license

Brandon O. Murphy, 24, of the 200 block of Mill, Yorkville, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. at Route 71 and Main Street and charged with the unlawful possession of cannabis and having no valid driver’s license, said Oswego police.

Unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor

Two female juveniles were arrested at 8:10 p.m. in the 4000 block of Route 71 and charged with the unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, said Oswego police.

DUI, driving with suspended license

Adrian J. Kilgore, 31, of the 900 block of Symphony Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 12:34 a.m. at Farnsworth and Route 34 and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, said Oswego police. He was also charged with having no rear plate light.

Failure to appear warrant

Clark M. Gillispie, 21, of the 2900 block of Carlsbad Circle, Aurora, was arrested at 5 p.m. at Route 34 and Pearces Ford and charged with a failure to appear warrant for retail theft out of Kendall County, said Oswego police.

Friday, Oct. 5

No valid driver’s license

Patricia Jimenez-Contreras, 45, of the 2900 block of Jacob Avenue, was arrested at 9:15 p.m. at Plainfield and Templeton and charged with having no valid driver’s license, said Oswego police. He was also charged with an improper turn.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

A female juvenile, 16, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. at Oswego High School and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Tuesday, Oct. 3

Possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia

A female juvenile, 15, was arrested at 1:05 p.m. in the 1500 block of Harvey Road and charged with the possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Battery

Oswego police responded to a report of battery that occurred at Washington Park at 7:45 p.m. The incident is under investigation.

Monday, Oct. 2

Burglary

Oswego police responded to a report of a burglary that occurred at a business in the 4000 block of Route 71 sometime between Oct. 1 at 5:15 p.m. and Oct. 2 and 9:30 a.m. Employees alerted police that someone had broken in and stolen the safe, valued at $1105.51. $50 in damages were also reported. The case is under investigation.

Domestic battery

Brian Michels, 40, of the 200 block of Isleview, was arrested at 9 a.m. at his house and charged with domestic battery, said Oswego police.
