Residents in the 0-100 block of Guilford Road in Oswego Township reported an attempted burglary, according to Kendall County Sheriff's police. A subsequent investigation revealed an unknown subject had attempted to enter the residence through a window, police said.A 12-year-old boy was arrested at a business in the 2600 block of Route 34 and charged with attempted retail theft, police said.

A contractor reported $200 worth of lumber stolen from a house under construction in the 200 block of Julep, Oswego police said.A contractor on a house under construction in the 100 block of Bluegrass Parkway reported $500 in lumber stolen, Oswego police said.
