Tuesday, July 12

Copper theft

Oswego police are investigating the theft of copper from a home being built at 4909 Seeley St. that was reported at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The copper was estimated in value at about $600.

Monday, July 11

Marijuana possession

  • Miguel Gonzalez, 18, of Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana at about 2 a.m. Monday at 2300 Route 34, according to an Oswego police report. He was given an Aug. 25 court date.
  • Nicholas Russel Majszuk, 28, of the 700 block of Bohannon Circle, Oswego, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Ogden Avenue, Naperville police said. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged on an outstanding failure to appear warrant from DuPage County. His bail was $10,000.
Sunday, July 10

Tires slashed

A resident in the 400 block of Monroe Street reported Sunday to Oswego police that someone slashed the tires on their vehicle. Damage was estimated in value at less than $150.

DUI

Daniel Balnias, 50, of Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license revoked at about 1 a.m. Sunday at 2630 Route 34, according to an Oswego police report. A court date is to be determined.

Wallet stolen

An Oswego woman reported to Oswego police at about 2 p.m. Sunday that her wallet was stolen from her cart while shopping at Jewel, 3795 Orchard Road.

Underage drinking

A 16-year-old Oswego boy was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, curfew violation and possession of tobacco of a minor at about 2 a.m. Sunday at Linden Drive and Hemlock Lane, according to an Oswego police report. He was released to his parents.

Saturday, July 9

Copper theft

A business in the 1500 block of Route 34 reported the theft of 40 pounds of copper sometime before 10 a.m. Saturday, according to an Oswego police report. No loss estimate was given.

Marijuana possession

Timothy Peterson, 24, of Lisbon, was charged with possession of marijuana at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Orchard Road and Tuscany Trail, according to Oswego police. He was given a July 27 court date.
