Police Blotter: Man Clocked at 99 MPH Was Designated Driver

Sunday, April 10

Speeding 40 mph over limit
Ryan M. Jones, 25, of 254 Springbrook Trail South in Oswego, was charged with driving 40 mph over the posted speed limit about 3 a.m. at Millhurst and Oakbrook roads in Fox Township, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. Police said Jones told deputies he was the designated driver for the evening and his drunk passenger had encouraged him to break 100 mph. Jones was clocked driving 99 mph, according to the report.

Saturday, April 9

Alcohol consumption
Oswego police said Jessica Hutchinson, 20, of 3007 Foxmoor Drive in Oswego, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, zero tolerance, about 2 a.m. at Route 30 and Fifth Street. She was given a May 13 court date.

Underage drinking
Alicia Wise, 19, of 508 Sudbury Circle, and a 16-year-old Oswego girl were charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of alcohol by a minor about 5:20 p.m. after Kendall County Sheriff's Office deputies said they were called to the Richard Young Forest Preserve on Route 71 for reports of a person who had consumed too much alcohol. Wise was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center and treated, while the 16-year-old was released to her parents, police said.

Friday, April 8

Disorderly conduct
Four female juveniles ranging in age from 14 to 17 were charged with disorderly conduct about 9:30 a.m. at Oswego East High School, 1525, Harvey Road, according to an Oswego police report. No further information on the incident was available.

Tuesday, April 5

DUI, paraphernalia possession
Oswego police said John W. Solan, 30, of 2255 Ridge Ave. in Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia about 12:10 a.m. at Route 34 and Ogden Falls Boulevard. Solan has a May 13 court date.

Underage drinking
Samantha Campos, 19, of 2437 Hillsboro Lane in Montgomery, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol by a minor about 12:55 a.m. at 335 Ogden Falls Blvd., according to an Oswego police report. She was given an April 22 court date.

Monday, April 4

Battery
Jordan Thompson, 18, of 2280 Margaret Drive in Oswego, was charged with battery at about 8:15 p.m. at 2890 Route 34, according to an Oswego police report. He was given a May 11 court date.

Friday, April 1

Marijuana possession at OEHS
Oswego police said two juvenile Oswego East High School students were charged with possession of marijuana at the school about 11:50 a.m. One of the students is from Oswego and the other from Montgomery. The Oswego teen also was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful storage of a weapon. Oswego police spokesman Rob Sherwood said the boy had mace and a small knife in his possession at the school.
