Police Blotter: Man Leads Cops on Chase; Teen Charged with DUI

A garage in the 100 block of Meadows Court was burglarized, Oswego police said.

July 4

Jake Resh, 19, of the 1300 block of Andover, Aurora, was arrested by Oswego police at the Circle K, 1190 Route 34, and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and failure to wear a seatbelt, police said.

Oswego police investigated a single-vehicle crash that resulted when a sinkhole was created under the weight of a vehicle at East View Elementary, 4209 Route 71, police said. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Someone damaged an outdoor light controller and left a bottle of gasoline on a deck in the 0-100 block of Bridgeview Drive, Oswego police said.

Daniel Michael, 18, of the 4300 block of Route 23, Leland, Illinois, was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff's police at Route 25 and Second Street in unincorporated Oswego and charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police. Police said a deputy attempted to stop Michael for traffic violations at 5:51 p.m., and Michael refused to stop his vehicle, resulting in a police pursuit. The pursuit continued to the area of 10925 Route 71 in Yorkville, where police took Michael into custody. Michael was cited for multiple moving violations, reckless driving and felony fleeing, police said.

July 5

David J. Hejnar, 19, of the 2300 block of Ferdinand Lane, Montgomery, was arrested by Oswego police following a three-car crash at 12:07 a.m. at Route 34 and Route 30 and charged with DUI, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police reports. No injuries were reported.

Devin Rodriguez, 18, of the 400 block of North, Plano, was arrested at Route 34 and Douglas and charged with DUI, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, Oswego police said.
