Police Blotter: Texting While Driving, Battery on a School Bus Reported

Oswego area police reports, Feb. 8-12

Saturday, Feb. 12

Outstanding warrant, marijuana possession
Trent Cobb, 32, 804 Georgetown Drive, Oswego, was charged on an outstanding failure to appear warrant and with marijuana possession at about 10 a.m. Feb. 12 after being stopped at Route 34 and Mason Square Drive, according to Oswego police reports. He was given court dates of March 3 and 11.

Friday, Feb. 11

DUI, texting while driving
Kristina Philip, 42, of 2865 Kennedy Road, Oswego, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident and texting while driving after an accident at Minkler Road and Hunt Club Drive at about 8:15 p.m. Feb. 11. She was given a March 11 court date.

Battery on a school bus
Oswego police are investigating an incident of a 13-year-old Montgomery student who was injured after being hit by another student on a school bus at about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 11, according to police reports. The incident took place near Washington Street and Route 31.

Thursday, Feb. 10

Failure to secure a child
Aurora Villalpando, 25, of 3212 Veronica St., Plano, was charged with disobeying a stop sign, driving while license suspended, operating a uninsured vehicle and failure to properly secure a child younger than 8 at about 5:45 Feb. 10, according to Kendall County Sheriff’s Office reports. She was pulled over at Fernwood and Winrock roads in Oswego Township.

Marijuana, paraphernalia possession
Torrien Jamari Minor, 23, of the first block of Knollwood Drive in Montgomery, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 9:55 p.m. Thursday at Knollwood Drive and Briarcliff Drive in Montgomery, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. Minor was pulled over for a broken taillight, and was cited for that as well as operating an uninsured vehicle, sheriff’s deputies said.  

Wednesday, Feb. 9

Theft from Meijer
Oswego police are investigating a theft of about $80 in merchandise taken from the Oswego Meijer store at about 3 p.m. Feb. 9.  There are no suspects at this time and investigation is still ongoing.

Marijuana, paraphernalia possession
Jason Ramirez, 18, of Melrose Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 9 after Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies made contact with him and two other individuals as they sat in a parked car at 324 Beaver Crossing in Oswego Township, according to sheriff’s police reports.

Tuesday, Feb. 8

Domestic battery
Jason D. Lukacs, 37, of 101 Harbor Drive, Unit D, Oswego, was charged with domestic battery at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 8 after Kendall County Sheriff’s police received a call of a battery from the home, according to sheriff’s police reports.
