Police Blotter: Texting While Driving While Drunk

Friday, Dec. 16

DUI

  • An accident at Orchard Road and Route 71 at about 6:15 p.m. Friday resulted in a driving under the influence charge for Steven C. Wagner, 45, of 714 Blossom Court in Oswego, according to an report. Wagner was also cited with failure to yield while turning left. No one was injured in the accident.
  • Anita Wilk, 51, of Aurora, was charged with DUI, improper lane use and texting while driving after being stopped around 11 p.m. at Orchard and Galena roads, Oswego police said. She was given a Jan. 17 court date.
  • Police said Timothy Cheskie, 34, of Montgomery, was charged with DUI and cited with improper lane use around 3:30 a.m. Friday at Route 34 and Chesterfield.

Thursday, Dec. 15

Car break-in

Oswego police took a report of a car being broken into in the 200 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard sometime before 7:10 p.m. Dec. 15. About $500 damage was done to the car and about $200 worth of items were taken.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

Theft, eluding police

Juan Lopez, 43, of 401 Monroe St. in Oswego, was charged with felony retail theft, fleeing and eluding police, driving while license suspended, failure to signal, no insurance and damaging government property at about 1 p.m. Dec. 14, according to an Oswego police report.  He was arrested at his home, booked and taken to the Kendall County Jail, the report said.
