Oswego Police Blotter: Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles Continue

Weekly reports from the Oswego Police Department; Oct. 10 - Oct. 15.

Monday, Oct. 15

Burglary to a motor vehicle

  • Oswego police responded to a report of a burglary from a motor vehicle that occurred at 3:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Mondovi. The vehicle was reported unlocked.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of burglary and criminal damage done to a motor vehicle that occured between 5:30 and 7:07 a.m. at Route 71 and Panther Drive. 

In-state warrant

Robert Minor, 48, of the 1200 block of Wilson Creek Circle, Aurora, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. at Route 30 and Douglas and charged with an in-state warrant, said Oswego police.

Domestic battery

Glen J. Dieter, 45, of the 200 block of Main Street, was arrested at 12 p.m. in the 3000 block of Route 34 and charged with domestic battery from an incident that happened on Oct. 14, said Oswego police.

Sunday, Oct. 14

Disorderly conduct

Abel Jr. Ramirez, 48, of the 1100 block of Austin Drive, Aurora, was arrested at 12:36 a.m. at Douglas and Route 34 and charged with disorderly conduct, said Oswego police.

Retail theft

  • Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft from the Jewel Food Store at Route 30 and Douglas Road that occurred at 4:30 p.m.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft that occurred at the Oswego Wal-Mart at 8:04 p.m. $527.46 was reported stolen.

Burglary to a motor vehicle

  • Oswego police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle that occurred at an unknown time in 500 block of Woodland Way. A cell phone was taken from an unlocked vehicle and $600 in damages was reported.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle that occurred between 9 p.m. on Oct. 13 and 8 a.m. at Oct. 14 in the 400 block of Arboretum Way. A digital camera valued at $50 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Battery

Oswego police responded to a report of battery that occurred on Sept. 21 in the 100 block of Northampton. The victim reported being beaten up at that address. The case is under investigation.

Saturday, Oct. 13

DUI

David N. Irvland, 47, of the 500 block of Chase Road, Lombard, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. at Route 34 and Boulder Hill Pass and charged with driving under the influence greater than .08 and improper lane usage, said Oswego police.

Retail theft

  • Oswego police responded to a report of retail theft that occurred in the 2700 block of Route 34 at 5:32 p.m. The incident is under investigation.
  • Oswego police responded to a report of theft that occurred on Oct. 12 at 7:55 p.m. at the Oswego Wal-Mart. $1,397 worth of merchandise was reported stolen.

Friday, Oct. 12

In-state warrant

James L. Davis, 46, of the 100 block of Chicago Road, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. at Route 30 and Douglas Road and charged with an in-state warrant, said Oswego police.

Battery

Oswego police responded to a report of an aggravated assault and battery that occurred on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Bison. The case is under investigation.

Thursday, Oct. 11

Driving with no valid driver’s license

A female juvenile, 17, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. at Route 71 and Panther Lane and charged with driving with no valid driver’s license and disobeying a traffic control device, said Oswego police.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

DUI

Emilo Z. Heynez-Avitia, 66, of the 1500 block of Andover, Aurora, was arrested at 8:51 p.m. at Pearces Ford and Route 35 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said Oswego police. He was also charged with the improper transportation of alcohol and an improper turn.

Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to appear warrant

Cyrell L. King, 24, of the 1600 block of Kautz Road, Aurora, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. at Douglas and Old Post and charged with the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, the illegal transportation of alcohol and a failure to appear warrant, said Oswego police. He was also charged with failure to signal.
