Police Blotter: Youth Throws Knife Near Boulder Hill School; Men Apprehended After Stealing iPhone Chargers

Salvador Ibarra Jr. 18, of the 700 block of New York Street, Aurora, was arrested by Oswego police at Douglas Street and Route 30 and charged with possession of cannabis and no valid license, police said.

May 17

Adan Gutierrez, 49, of the 1000 block of Lisa Boulevard, Aurora, was arrested by Oswego police and Orchard Road and Mill Road and charged with DUI, speeding and endangering the safety of a child, police said.

Kendall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a male juvenile throwing knives on the playground at Boulder Hill Elementary School, 163 Boulder Hill Pass, police said. Upon arrival, police found that the juvenile had damaged a port-a-potty near the school and was throwing a pocket knife in the air while other children were in close proximity, police said. The youth, who lives in unincorporated Montgomery, was referred for court services, according to police.

Thomas Smith, 21, of the 9600 block of Dobson, Chicago, and Reggie Cummings Jr., 22, of the 900 block of North Avenue, Aurora, were arrested following an incident at Walmart, 2300 Route 34, Oswego police said. Capt. Jeff Burger police pursued the two men after they stole iPhone charger cables and then left the store on foot. They were apprehended in the parking lot near PetSmart, 350 Fifth Street, police said, and charged with retail theft.

Timothy Cain, 35, of the 600 block of Hawley Drive, unincorporated Oswego, was arrested by Kendall County Sheriff's police on a warrant for charges of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic battery, police said.
