Police Find Teen Missing Since Thanksgiving in South Carolina

Law enforcement officials have located a 16-year-old girl who was last seen in Oswego.

The 16-year-old girl who have been searching for since earlier this month was found safe in South Carolina on Tuesday evening.

Anna Jean Kapton, also known as Anna Jean Johncours or Anna Jean Griffin, was last seen in Oswego and . She was found in Horry County, SC, according to police.

The girl is a ward of the state who has run away once before, according to an Oswego police news release. Police classified her as an "endangered runaway," and she was entered into the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database.

Police had thought she might have been on her way to Little Rivers, SC, where her biological father lives. In a news release issued Wednesday, police did not say whether that was the case, but Little Rivers does fall within Horry County, where the girl was reportedly found.
