Rt. 30 Speeders Target of Next Wednesday's Awareness Day

The primary emphasis of Speed Awareness Day will be the enforcement of laws associated with the posted speed limits along Route 30.

Local police departments are asking drivers to help make the roads safer for themselves, other motorists and pedestrians by always obeying the speed when travelling on Route 30.

During the Speed Awareness Day set for Wednesday, Aug. 8, more than a dozen police departments will be out in force along Route 30 to educate motorists through both enforcement and education.

The event is held in conjunction with Families Against Chronic Excessive Speeding, a nonprofit group dedicated to educating the public to the dangers of speeding.
