Sheriff’s Blotter: Police Respond to Hit and Runs

Weekly roundup of reports from the Kendall County Sheriff's office, Oct. 21-28

Sunday, Oct. 28

Hit and run

  • Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported hit and run that occurred at 1:55 p.m. at Ashley Road and Walker Road in Kendall County. The Ashley Road North bound sign had been hit and damage is estimated at about $50.
  • Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported hit and run that occurred sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. at Saugatuck and Pueblo Road, Montgomery. A car parked legally in front of a residence had been struck.

Saturday, Oct. 27

DUI, possession of cannabis

Zachary James Thurm, 29, of the 1500 block of Terrace Drive, Naperville, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. at Route 71 and Van Emmon Road, Oswego and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of cannabis, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. He was also charged with improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control signal.

Theft

  • Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported theft of an electronic device that occurred sometime between 5:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Chatham Place, Montgomery.
  • Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported theft from a motor vehicle that occurred sometime between Oct. 21 and Oct. 27 at the Hide-a-Way Lakes Campground, Yorkville. The victim reported that 12 batteries that power two electric golf carts had been removed.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported hit and run that occurred 1 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Sonora Drive, Montgomery. A mirror of a car parked on the street was hit. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s office.

Friday, Oct. 26

Failure to appear warrant

Nicholas Alexander, 20, of the 100 block of Harbor Drive, was arrested at 8:55 a.m. at his residence in Oswego and charged for a failure to appear warrant out of Kendall County for the unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.

Possession of controlled substance, drug paraphernalia

Morgan Marie Collier, 23, of the 200 block of France Street, Waynesville, Missouri, was arrested at 4 p.m. in the 100 block of Route 30 in Oswego and charged with the possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. They had originally reported to the location for a well-being check on Collier.

Domestic battery

John Henry Jones, 47, of the 400 block of Avon Street, Aurora, was arrested at 9:42 p.m. in the 1000 block of Route 30 in Oswego and charged with domestic battery, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.

Thursday, Oct. 25

Domestic battery

Gail P. Webb, 46, of the 2500 block of Wolf Road, was arrested at 4:14 p.m. at her residence in Oswego and charged with domestic battery for an incident that occurred on Oct. 24, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

In-state warrant

Justin Thomas Schnulle, 21, of the 1100 block of Mcmillen Ave, Aurora, was arrested at 1:54 a.m. at Route 31 and Mill Road in Oswego and charged with an in-state warrant out of Kendall County for a count of harassment by telephone, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. He was also charged with speeding and no proof of insurance.

Tuesday, Oct. 23

Domestic battery

  • A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 8:15 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Codorus and charged with domestic battery, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. He was also charged with criminal damage to property.
  • Bryan Andrew Howard, 20, of the 2600 block of Light Road, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. at his residence in Oswego and charged with domestic battery, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. The incident was between two roommates, and upon arrival it was found that Howard had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear for a driving with a suspended license case out of Kane County. He was arrested for this warrant.

Theft

The Kendall County Sheriff’s office is investigating a report of an iPod that was stolen on Oct. 19, valued under $300, in Bristol township.

Monday, Oct. 22

Possession of cannabis

Nathaniel William Lee, 20, of the 0-99 block of Ridgefield Road, Montgomery, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. at Saugatuck Road and Circle Drive East in Montgomery and was charged with the possession of cannabis, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. Lee was found with 2.5 – 10 grams of what appeared to be cannabis after he was stopped for driving with expired registration.

Telephone threat

Kendall County police responded to a report of a telephone threat that occurred at an unknown time on Sunday, Oct. 21.

Criminal trespass to residence

  • Joseph Anthony White, 32, of the 0-99 block of Ingleshire Road, Montgomery, was arrested 3:06 p.m. and arrested in the 0-99 block of Pendleton Place, Montgomery and charged with criminal trespass to a residence, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.
  • Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of criminal trespass to a vehicle and criminal damage to property that occurred at Twin Oaks Landscaping at an unknown time on Oct. 21. A company vehicle was reported stolen and damage to property, including containers holding landscape rock and tie-down straps for transportation. The case is under investigation.

Sunday, Oct. 21

No valid driver’s license

Sergio Arturo Vazquez-Amezquita, 29, of the 1200 block of Livingston Street, Streator, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. in the 1700 block of Route 25 in Oswego and charged with driving with no valid driver’s license, said the Kendall County Sheriff’s office. He was also charged with speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle.
