Teen Arrested After 911 Call on Frances Lane: Police

Sabino Brian Sotelo, 18, was arrested after police responded to a 911 call at his home in Montgomery.

A man was arrested Friday night at the same location where police have previously responded to reports of a drive-by shooting and possible homemade bomb in Montgomery.


Police said Sabino Brian Sotelo, 18, of the 2800 block of Frances Lane, was arrested on several Kendall County warrants at around 7 p.m. after officers responded to his home for a 911 call.

A press release issued by Montgomery Police did not give details on the nature of the 911 call, and police did not immediately respond to a messages from Patch on Friday and Saturday.

Sotelo was arrested on Kendall County warrants for felony aggravated battery, mob action and disorderly conduct, police said. He was taken to the Kendall County Public Safety Center holding.

Previous incidents

On Feb. 11, three teens were arrested after a several shots were reportedly fired from a vehicle in front of a home on Frances Lane. Residents of the home chased the suspect vehicle, resulting in a crash between the two cars near Route 31 and Route 30. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, but police were able to apprehend the three suspects, according to Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers. No one was hurt in the crash or the shooting, police said.

Less than a week later, on Feb. 16, a resident of the same home found a wine bottle with a partial burnt rag stuck inside it in the driveway, police said. As in the Feb. 11 shooting on the same block, no one was injured, Meyers said, and there was no property damage. The bottle and rag have been sent to the state police crime lab for processing.

According to police,  two earlier incidents in the 2800 block of Frances are also believed to be connected to the shooting. On Feb. 7, residents reported that someone broke the glass on their front storm door. On Feb. 10, a day before the shooting, the windows on a vehicle parked on the the street were broken out, police said.

Montgomery police are also looking into another shooting on Feb. 11, this one on Denham Drive. In that incident, witnesses saw a male suspect firing a gun into the air multiple times. No one was hurt in that incident, and two suspects in dark clothing were seen running away from the scene of the shooting.
