Three Oswego Hair Businesses Broken Into Overnight

Only cash has been reported stolen in the overnight burglaries, said Oswego police.

Oswego Police are investigating several recent overnight burglaries to Oswego businesses.

Two businesses at West Van Buren and Adams Street in downtown Oswego were broken into, as well as a business in the 300 block of Fifth Street off of Route 34.

"They are all hair-type salon businesses," said Oswego police captain Jeff Burgner.

The overnight break-ins were all reported at about 7:30 a.m. on March 16. Burgner said an undetermined amount of cash was stolen from each business, but no products or supplies.

"We do believe there is a common link," said Burgner, as only salon-type businesses have been targeted.

Burgner said the Oswego Police are working with the Aurora Police Department, who have had a string of overnight "smash and grab" burglaries since March 8.

The two may have a connection, said Burgner, as some of the businesses hit in Aurora have also been hair salons.
