Weather A Factor in Oswego Crash: Police [UPDATE]

Area of Route 30 and Harvey Road was closed for several hours following two-car accident.

Oswego police are investigating a two-car crash that sent three people to the hospital Wednesday evening.

Capt. Jeff Burgner said the crash was reported at around 6:41 p.m. at Route 30 and Harvey Road.

Burgner said investigators determined that a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Aurora man was heading east on Route 30 when it crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a westbound car driven by a 26-year-old woman, also from Aurora.

The male driver of the first vehicle was transported to the hospital, along with the female driver and a passenger in the other vehicle, according to Burgner, who said he did not have information on the extent of their injuries Wednesday night.

Burgner said police are still investigating, but do not believe impaired driving contributed to the crash.

"Weather conditions were a contributing factor in the cause of the crash," he said.

The road was closed for several hours Wednesday night as Oswego's accident reconstruction unit worked at the crash site.
