Two DUIs Reported Over New Year's Holiday

Oswego Police will continue an extra enforcement on drunk driving through Jan. 5.

Two people were caught drunk driving in Oswego over the New Year's holiday, according to Oswego police. 

The first incident happened earlier on New Year's Eve at 9:53 p.m. at Route 71 and Washington. 

Craig A. Patrick, of the 3100 block of Whirlaway Lane, Montgomery, was charged with driving under the influence after he was involved in a two-car accident. He was charged with a DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Neither Patrick nor the driver of the other vehicle were reported injured.

The second arrest occurred at 3:07 a.m. on New Year's Day int he 2300 block of Route 34. Rachel Numrich, 28, of the 1100 block of Amaranth, Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence.

The Oswego police will be continuing their extra traffic enforcement for drunk driving through Jan. 5.
