Heather K. Wandt, 30, Had a Passion for Law Enforcement, Animals

Services will be held at Naperville's The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Heather K. Wandt, age 30 years, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident in rural Livingston County, IL. She was born May 6th, 1983 in Elmhurst, IL.

Heather was a 2001 graduate of Oswego High School. She went on to Waubonsee Community College to study Criminal Justice and was presently attending the police academy at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL.


Law Enforcement was her passion and she was employed as an officer with the Coal City Police Dept. Coal City, IL. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Plainfield, IL.

She is survived by her parents Peter A. and Miriam H. (nee Melendez) Wandt; sister Michele (John) Ratini of Aurora, IL; brother Nickolas of Elmhurst, IL; fiancée Pete Simonetti of Oswego, IL; niece Sophia Ratini; and nephews Paolo Ratini and Alexander Wandt; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Heather was an animal lover and is survived by her two beloved pet dogs Chip and Ricky.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 8th, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1411 95th street, Naperville, IL. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 9th, 2013 at the church at 10:30 AM.
