Police are looking to arrest a 54-year-old Palos Hills man who is accused of driving 23 Oswego East High School students while intoxicated to their prom last spring in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, according to Suburban Life Publications.

Authorities issued the $50,000 warrant for the limo driver, Richard L. Madison, last week after they said he did not show for a Tuesday morning court hearing, according to the article.

Madison was cited on May 11 for driving under the influence and reckless driving for transporting the students from Plainfield to their prom at Abbington Banquets, 3S002 Illinois 53 in Glen Ellyn, according to the Chicago Tribune. Police said his blood-alcohol level was .222, according to the article.

The students contracted the private limousine service Limos Alive Party Bus to drive them to the Abbington, the sheriff's office said in a news release. The banquet hall is located on the southwest corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Road.

"While (en) route, some of the students became alarmed due to the driver's erratic driving and called their parents to notify them of the situation," the release said.

Two off-duty Oswego police officers providing security at the prom were contacted and notified of what had occurred. They called the sheriff’s office to investigate, which led to Madison's arrest.
