Woman, Child Injured in Route 126 Accident

The rear-end crash happened around 10 a.m. at Route 126 and Ridge Road.

Two people were injured in a crash Sunday morning at Route 126 and Ridge Roads.

Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said two cars were heading east on Route 126 when the rear-end collision happened around 10 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit, a woman in her 60s, was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora in good condition, according to Stratton.

The second vehicle was carrying a woman in her 70s and granddaughter. The girl, 11, was also taken to Copley in good condition, Stratton said.

Stratton said Kendall County Sheriff’s Police responded to the accident. No details on the cause of the accident were available Sunday afternoon.

The Sunday morning crash was just the latest in a series of accidents along a roughly three-mile stretch of Route 126.
