Campaign Questions

Why are you seeking office?
I am a parent in the district who wants our children to have a world class education they need and deserve.

What set you apart from other candidates?

Working in retail for the past 20 plus years, you learn very quickly to treat every person with the respect they deserve.  You also learn to listen to their needs and ask a lot of questions to make sure that you are getting them the right product.  I feel all of these traits will help me be an asset to District 308.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

I feel that funding for our teachers, and support staff, is the single most important priority I would be facing if iIam elected.  It is so important to make sure that we have the tools for our students and teachers to be successful in creating a world-class education.

What do you consider to be the main issues facing the Oswego 308 School District today?

With Illinois continuing to cut funding across the state and pension reform looming on the horizon we need to work smarter, not harder.  Our children still need to be college and career ready despite the monetary crisis.  We want to continue to ensure that the teachers have the tools they need for the success of our children.

How do you feel about the proposed school sales tax for District 308 and Kendall County? Would you support it?

The sales tax proposal by the school district, for Kendall County residents, is still in its early stages of the financial committee.  I would have to see the final draft and wording to see if I would support it or not.

What suggestions do you have in the future for re-drawing boundary lines for schools as the district continues to grow?

We would have to make adjustments based on capacity of the schools and locations in the neighborhoods for future re-drawing of the school boundary lines. We would have to listen to the concerns of our constituents and make the best decision for the residents and the school district.
