Applications Being Accepted for Vacant Oswego 308 Board of Education Seat

Board is required to try to fill the vacancy left by Lynn Cullick within 45 days of her last day.

The Oswego 308 Board of Education is taking applications for the vacant seat on the board starting Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Lynn Cullick vacated the seat on Nov. 27 due to her appointment to the Kendall County Board District 2. The school board has a period of 45 days to attempt to fill the empty seat from Cullick’s last day, said Board President Bill Walsh.

Applications requiring a cover letter and resume will be accepted through either email at newboardmember@oswego308.org or by delivering a sealed envelope to Nicole Sanders, the superintendent’s assistant, at the District Administration Center.

All applications are due by 5 p.m. on Dec. 28.

Walsh said all candidate applications will then be sent out to current board members, who will submit their top three candidates, which will then be narrowed down to the top few candidates.

Although the process has not been fully finalized, board members will be able to ask candidates questions at an open meeting in early January and then in closed session following choose a new board member.

The term of the new board member will be until the April 2013 election candidates have been appointed.
