Chamber Notes: Village President to Give State of the Village Address

Those interested in how local government has and will affect business in Oswego will not want to miss the Oswego Chamber Legislative Committee sponsored “State of the Village Address” featuring Oswego Village President Brian LeClercq.  President LeClercq will highlight recent events and activities within the Village as well as publically preview the recently adopted community strategic plan.

President LeClercq is a lifelong Oswego resident and married with two children.  An honors graduate from the University of Illinois in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Brian is currently employed as a Financial Consultant for Walnut Street Securities.  First elected to the Oswego Village Board in 2005, Brian served on the Finance Committee, Community Development Committee and Legislative & Policy Committee, and worked on the ECO Committee.  In 2007, he was elected Oswego Village President and won a second term in 2011.

Register now and plan to join the Chamber at on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 a.m. for a hearty breakfast followed by President LeClercq’s presentation.  Advanced registration is required and may be made by calling the Chamber office at 630-554-3505.  The cost is $10 for representatives of the Oswego Chamber member businesses and $15 for nonmembers.

Online booth registration is also now available for the 2012 Oswego Business and Consumer Expo by visiting www.oswegobusiness.org.  This event will be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Oswego High School fieldhouse and draws huge crowds annually.

In other Chamber news, Brenda Van Wyhe, of Rush-Copley Medical Center has been named Chairman of the nominating committee.  Joining Brenda are Kristin Sanders of Castle Bank and Ken McLaughlin of Esp, Kreuzer, Cores & McLaughlin LLP.  The committee is charged with nominating a slate of potential Directors to be submitted for election to the Board by the membership at the Organization’s Annual Meeting to be held on Thursday, May 3 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Course.  The committee will begin soliciting nominations in the very near future.
