Petitions can be picked up at location and some offices allow them to be picked up online.

Below are the offices that have open positions and any notices or information pertaining to running.

Oswego 308

Oswego District 308 has four open school board seats for 4-year terms in the April election.

Below is an announcement from Oswego 308 regarding incorporated and unincorporated residency restrictions when applying for a position with the board:

Oswego Community Unit School District No. 308 received confirmation this week from the Illinois State Board of Education and the Kendall County Regional Office of Education that the residency restrictions contained in Section 10-10.5(a)(3) of the Illinois School Code will apply to the April 9, 2013 election.

Under that statute, at least 2 board members must reside in an unincorporated area in the school district.  Two current board members, Laurie Pasteris and Alison Swanson, reside in unincorporated areas in the school district.  Mrs. Pasteris’ term expires in April 2013.  Due to the residency requirement noted above, at least one candidate elected at the April 2013 election must reside in an unincorporated area in the school district.

The ballot format used at the April 2013 election will group candidates from unincorporated areas together and will group candidates from incorporated areas together.  All candidates are asked to carefully review their nominating papers to ensure that the papers accurately reflect whether they reside in a City, Village or Unincorporated area.

Village of Oswego

There are three trustee positions for 4-year terms available for the Village Board during the April election.

Oswegoland Park District

There is one park board commissioner position open for the April election.

Oswego Public Library

The Oswego Public Library board has four open positions for four-year terms for the April 2013 election.

Once all petitions are in on Dec. 26, Patch will update with a complete list of official candidates on the April ballot.
