The village will buy the ambulance for a price of $1 and an estimate has been obtained to paint the vehicle in a black and white scheme for $1,500.

$1 million for road improvements

The Village Board will also hear news on $1 million Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity grant received by the village in 2009 for road repairs. Projects that may be completed with these funds include $550,000 for the resurfacing of Wolf Road from Route 71 to Harvey Road and $450,000 to overlay some of the most poorly rated roads in the village.

Sunday Concerts in the Park

Community Relations Manager Michele Bergeron is seeking $1,500 in village funds to host Sunday Concerts in the Park—tentatively set for Aug. 14 and Sept. 18 at Hudson Crossing Park. In a memo to trustees, Bergeron said that this year’s Oswego Country Market has been a “huge success,” and the village could use that success to further promote the downtown.

“After some discussion with Interim Administrator (Dwight) Baird we thought that it would be a great idea to keep people downtown a little bit longer by hosting a few concerts in Hudson Crossing Park,” Bergeron wrote.

The concerts would be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
