The Oswego Village Board will meet tonight at . Here’s a look at some of the more pressing items on the agenda:

  • First up the board will meet as a whole beginning at 5:30 p.m. as part of a workshop on the village’s strategic plan. The planning process began this summer and a document outlining the village roadmap should be complete in the coming weeks. The Board will make revisions to the document tonight and will hold a public forum to discuss the plan at a special meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18.
  • Village President Brian LeClercq also will discuss the latest developments in the KenCom matter. The village is scheduled in court Wednesday, and LeClercq said he wants to get a consensus from trustees on how to proceed. to proceed with KenCom’s  $1.775 million compromise offer. Since then, it’s been reported that the county may begin to charge KenCom rent for its space in Yorkville. LeClercq said that news may change how trustees wish to proceed with the agreement.
  • The board is also set to vote on a one-year agreement with Pace Suburban Bus to continue service from the village’s Park and Ride facility on Orchard Road to the downtown Aurora train station. According to village documents, staff have been in talks with Kendall Area Transit to perhaps take over that service and offer more than the current three morning and three afternoon trips. LeClercq said KAT has yet to give firm information on a possible deal, and that if the village were to enter into an agreement with Pace, there is a 60-day window in which the village could release itself from the contract.

Tonight’s meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the strategic planning session and the regular Village Board meeting will immediately follow.
