On the Agenda: Village Board Meeting Tuesday Night

Here's a look at what's on tap for tonight.

The will meet Tuesday night beginning at 6 p.m. with its Committee of the Whole Meeting at Village Hall. The regular meeting will follow directly afterward. Here’s a look at some of the highlights on the agenda:

  • The board will discuss and possibly vote on a lease with option to buy for 65 W. Washington St. — the proposed location for Firehouse Pizza and Pub. The board will also discuss the owners’ request for revolving loans funds from the village. The agenda does not list an amount of the loan, but it would include a 3 percent interest rate paid over 10 years.
  • The board will also vote on a revised intergovernmental agreement with KenCom. The agreement has been amended since the Village Board approved it last month. The Yorkville City Council approved the amended agreement last week. The agreement caps the county’s annual contribution to $1,829,752, with Oswego, Yorkville and Plano covering whatever expenses went beyond that $1.83 million and the telephone surcharge amounts.
  • Director of Public Works Jerry Weaver will also discuss the Illinois Department of Transportation’s request to allow contractors to conduct night work during the widening of Route 71 that is scheduled to start next year. All work on Route 71 will require the closure of one lane during construction and IDOT has asked that work be conducted from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to lessen traffic issues on the road. Slamming of delivery truck gates, jackhammer and milling work will not be allowed during those hours.
