Road Closed Due to Flooding in Oswego

Public works will monitor the situation over the weekend.

On Friday afternoon, the Village of Oswego announced that the Public Works Department has closed a section of Durham Lane between Colchester Drive and Preston Lane in Southbury due to standing water on the pavement.

The area will be monitored by Public Works throughout the weekend and when the water subsides, the road will be opened, according to the village.

While a flood warning is in effect for Will County until Saturday afternoon, a hazardous weather outlook for Kendall County called for "localized river flooding along the DuPage, Illinois and Kankakee rivers and along Sugar Creek," due to ice jams.

In nearby Yorkville, a river gauge showed the Fox River at 13.29 feet, just shy of the "action stage" of 14 feet late Thursday. In Montgomery, the river was at 12 feet; flood stage is 13 feet.
