Misfit Craft Brewery also could get go-ahead Tuesday night.

Editor's note: The current Oswego contract expires at the end of June. This story has been corrected to reflect that.

The Village Board’s committee of the whole will discuss three options Tuesday night for the village's latest garbage contract, which is set to go to bid in the coming weeks.

At their last meeting Jan. 10, trustees asked for more resident input, as well as options before seeking a new contract. The village’s contract with Allied Waste expires at the end of June.

According to a staff report, trustees will discuss keeping the current program that features unlimited trash and bulk removal for a set fee; a modified volume- based program that includes garbage removal priced based on the amount of garbage thrown away in either 35-, 64- or 96-gallon toters, and unlimited bulk removal; and finally a pay as you throw program that would incorporate stickers used for all waste.

All options include unlimited recycling and a sticker-based yard waste program. Unlimited yard waste also could be added to these options but would increase costs, according to the report.

“This will be less confusing for our residents and will serve to simplify the overall bid process. If requests for proposals are distributed with varieties of options, it may cause confusion for the companies attempting to bid for the Village’s service,” the report said.
