Last March Oswego and Oswego East High Schools underwent construction to add more classrooms, offices and additional space for programs.
According to Paul O’Malley, Assistant Superintendent of Business for Oswego 308, the construction is on schedule, with projects wrapping up by October 2013.
will have a gym addition and main office addition completed by January 2013 and all projects will be completed by August 2013.
plans to have one area of classrooms and the gym addition completed by January 2013 and the remainder of classroom space completed by August 2013. The main office area will be completed by October 2013.
O’Malley said staff and students alike have adapted well to the construction. “We have not taken any classroom space away from the buildings,” he added.
One of the largest concerns with the construction was the . Last spring Oswego was able to offer parking to all students while Oswego East put down temporary gravel lots to accommodate as many of its students as possible, with priority being given to seniors.
This year it has flip-flopped. “Parking has seen some changes in traffic flow and layout at both projects,” said O’Malley. “We have not had to limit parking passes at Oswego East but we have at Oswego High.”
The limit includes all seniors with a lottery for Oswego juniors.
