District 308 Construction Chief Cut from Staff

School board chooses not to renew contract of Doug Gallois.

will operate with one less member of its administrative staff.

The 308 School Board voted Monday night not to renew the contract of Doug Gallois, the district's executive director of construction service.

“His contract expired and the board chose to move in a different direction by not issuing a new contract,” said board President Bill Walsh. “We will use internal resources to manage any projects going forward.”

His departure comes on the heels of the board voting 5-1 Monday night against building a third high school.

Gallois began with the district in 2006, and his five-year contract expired June 30, said Kristine Liptrot, director of communications for District 308. His salary was $122,056.

Michael Barr, District 308’s construction supervisor, will assume many of Gallois' previous responsibilities, Liptrot said.
