District 308 Loses Another Top Administrator

Executive director takes position with former Superintendent David Behlow.

 lost another top administrator with the resignation of John Petzke, executive director of technology.

Petzke has taken the position of chief technology officer in North Shore School District 112 in Highland Park. Former District 308 Superintendent David Behlow heads up District 112. Petzke's first day on the North Shore was July 1. 

Petzke joined the District 308 administrative team in 2007 as director of instructional technology. Within a year the district promoted him to oversee its entire technology department.

"On behalf of the District 308 Board of Education, I would like to thank Dr. Petzke for his hard work to move the district’s technology to the level it is today," Board of Education President Bill Walsh said. "Additionally, his willingness to support and lead special projects during his tenure is very much appreciated. As Dr. Petzke starts the next phase in his career, we wish him all the best." 

Most recently Petzke served as a chief facilitator on the district's Boundary Committee. He will continue to serve as an adjunct professor at Aurora University.

Petzke’s departure is the latest in a line of top administrator exits that began with Assistant Superintendent for Administration Todd Colvin’s . He was followed by Superintendent Dan  and Assistant Superintendent of Business and Finance , along with Thompson Junior High Principal Tracy ; Long Beach Elementary School Principal ; and Brokaw Early Learning Center Principal . Last week came the announcement of the resignations of Angie Smith, director of business services, and OEHS dean Eric Koranda.
