East View Principal Leaving District

Principal Kathleen Melton will begin working for Wheaton School District 200 on July 1, 2013.

This will be East View Kindergarten Center Principal Kathleen Melton's last year at Oswego District 308.

Melton will be tranferring to Wheaton School District 200 on July 1, 2013 to take on the position of principal of Lowell Elementary School, whose current principal is retiring. 

Melton is currently the Principal at East View Kindergarten Center, a position she has held for two years, according to the Oswego 308 website. She has spent seven years on the District 308 Leadership Team.

Melton earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Francis, a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University and is currently a doctoral candidate at Northern Illinois University.

The Wheaton Board of Education approved a starting salary of $115,632 for Melton.

District 200 Superintendent Brian Harris said in a statement he is pleased with the hiring of Melton.

“I am confident that Ms. Melton ... will lead [her] new ... school to the best of [her] ability and continue the tradition of academic excellence that our community expects," he said.
