Scholarship Event to Support Local Students

On Wednesday, April 25, Instructor Joseph Buenvenida will help select and present scholarship awards to local students at the annual District 308 Teacher Student Recognition event, Reach for the Stars, organized by the Parents and Community for Excellence (PACE) organization.

The event will take place at Oswego High School located at 4250 Route 71 from 7 to 9 p.m.

“I am excited to serve as an event sponsor for this year’s Reach for the Stars events,” said local Kumon Instructor, Joseph Buenvenida. “It is an honor to be a part of an event that recognizes and supports children who strive to achieve academic excellence.”

Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading program, helps students in preschool through high school develop a love of learning.

Both students and teachers will be acknowledged during the event for their hard work and dedication to education. Last year’s event drew nearly 600 attendees to show their support for teachers and local students.
