No Lockdown: Police Respond After Equipment Malfunction at Southbury School

No emergency Monday at Oswego school.

There was no emergency on Monday at an Oswego elementary school, District 308 spokesman Brian Graves said.

According to Graves, it was an technological glitch that brought Oswego Police to Southbury Elementary School, 810 Preston Ln. Police responded Monday to a false alarm at the school.

"We had a situation where the system was being triggered due to an equipment malfunction," Graves said. "So there was no emergency."

Graves did note that Oswego schools do frequently conduct lockdown drills, but said Monday's incident was not a practice drill.
