Oswego and Oswego East Students Receive National Academic Honors

Zachary S. Gardner was named a Semifinalist in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

District 308 congratulates Oswego High School student Zachary S. Gardner for being named a Semifinalist in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Competition.  


Approximately 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest scoring entrants in each state.

Also announced were the names of Commended Students in the program. Commended Students throughout the nation are  recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2013 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students represent the top five percent of the more than 1.5 million entrants.

District 308 proudly recognizes Oswego High School Commended Students Cameron M. Dosch, Jessica M. Edwards, Connor W. Kispert, Pierce T. Parlier, Nathaniel P. Vojtik and Caitlin A. Witt; and Oswego East High School Commended Students Alexander Twardowski and Zahra A. Rehman.
