Oswego East Announces Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Students honored at Academic Excellence Banquet.

Nicole Kindelin and Sailahari Ponnaluri were named valedictorian and salutatorian.

The valedictorian for the Class of 2012 is Nicole Kindelin. Kindelin will attend the University of Kentucky where she will major in Chemistry. She received the National Excellence Scholarship as well as the Oswegoland Woman’s Club Scholarship. She was a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Student Council and Interact Rotary Club. She was also Captain of the volleyball team. She also earned the Oswego East Community Service Award.

The salutatorian for the Class of 2012 is Sailahari Ponnaluri.  Ponnaluri will attend the University of Iowa where she plans to major in Biomedical Engineering. She was awarded the National Excellence Scholarship and the Engineering Excellence Scholarship. She was involved in National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science Honor Society, Student Council and Robotics.  She was also awarded the Oswego East Science Department Award and she served as a volunteer in the community.

Both the salutatorian and the valedictorian were presented with framed medals at the Academic Excellence Banquet on May 22.  The banquet was held at White Eagle Golf Club.    

Other students recognized at the banquet for their academic achievements included Sydney Alonzo, Lindsey Anderson, Mirachelle Anselmo, mary Atchley, Matthew Barry, Filip Bojanic, Mackenzie Borders, Erinn Brooks, Thomas Campos III, Julianne Choi, Dylan Coonradt, Jessica Corral, Michael Doucette, Emilee Fiacchino, McKenzie Jones, Kelleigh Kuehl, Katelyn Olsen, Puja Patel, Saajan Patel, Kyla Price, Varun Raja, Jack Ryan, Danielle Steinwart, Mary Alice Stovall, Taylor Theil, Quan Vo, Kyle Weiskircher, Kristen Williams and Kelly Zaprzal.
