Oswego High School Show Choir Wins Awards

The school will compete this weekend in Waukegan.

Submitted by Oswego School District 308:

The Oswego High School show choirs Commotion and Ambiance both won first runners up awards on Saturday, March 15, at the Herscher High School Show Choir Invitational.

The show choirs received high praise from the judges on show concept, and choral sound. The backup band News2Me, directed by Frank Tieri and led by Michelle Smith on piano, was a point-and-a-half away from taking the Best Combo Caption Award. Dance captains Gustavo Guillen and Alyssa Scaramuzzi worked hard on preparing their squads for the season.

Both groups are headed to the Show Choir National Series Competition in Waukegan this weekend, in hopes of advancing to the Grand National Series in April. Ambiance and Commotion are directed by Frank J. Tieri (OHS) and choreographed by former OEHS teacher Patrick Stinson.
