Oswego Resident Wins Edison International Scholarship

Daniel Nagel, graduate of Oswego High School, is attending Kettering University.

Daniel Nagel, recent graduate of , has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship from Edison International, parent company of independent power producer Midwest Generation, which operates six generating stations statewide.
 
Daniel is the son of Chris and Pam Nagel. His father works as a senior project manager at the Midwest Generation Bolingbrook office.
 
Daniel is among eight recipients in Illinois of Edison International’s Howard P. Allen scholarships, awarded to high school graduates planning on attending a four-year university. The scholarships recognize and reward children of employees and retirees of Edison International companies.
 
This fall Daniel is attending Kettering University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. While at Oswego High School, Daniel was a National Honors Society member, National English Honors Society member, Jazz Band Trombone Section Leader and Captain of the varsity tennis team.
 
“We are pleased that Midwest Generation, on behalf of Edison International, can help Daniel achieve his goals,” said Fred McCluskey, Vice President Technical Services. “We are happy to make this investment in his education and know it will yield positive results.”
 
Midwest Generation is a subsidiary of Edison Mission Energy, which is part of the Edison International family of companies based in Rosemead, Calif.
