Thompson Junior High School, 440 Boulder Hill Pass, will host its second annual Tiger Trot 5K on Saturday, May 3.
The event includes a one-mile fun run/walk at 8 a.m., followed by a 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. Race-day registration is from 7 to 8 a.m.
This year, the course will be a combination of roads/paved paths around the Thompson neighborhood, and will start and end on Thompson property.
The event will be professionally timed, and awards will be given to the top overall male and female runners. The top male and female runners in each age group will receive ribbons.
Participants will also get a goodie bag filled with items from sponsors, plus a race T-shirt.
The cost to register is $15 for the fun run/walk and $25 for the 5K run/walk.
Families of four or more who register together will receive a discounted price of $10 per family member for the mile fun run/walk and $20 per member for the 5K.

Race packet pickup is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2, at Road Runner Sports, 2555 E. 75th Street in Naperville.
To be guaranteed a T-shirt and avoid late registration fees, registration deadline is April 25.
The event is a joint effort between the school's athletic and PE departments, and is aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles for students.
All proceeds benefit the students of Thompson Junior High.
