Oswego Schools Mull Online Learning Opportunities

A new math curriculum could lend itself to more online learning in the classroom.

Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Judith Minor reported to Community Unit School District 308’s Board of Education on available student online learning opportunities within the district at the board meeting Monday, March 10.

The Board of Education recently approved online classes for health, consumer education, contemporary literature and environmental science. The new, recently approved mathematics curriculum could offer opportunities for blended learning, which incorporates online learning into the classroom.

“We see it as a viable learning option for our district moving forward,” Minor said. “We hope this is the start of another great learning opportunity for our students.”

Some of the new online and blended opportunities could be available as soon as next year.
