Oswego Schools to Host Info Sessions on Departure from Special Education Co-Op

Submit your questions online by July 8.

Community Unit School District 308 is hosting two sessions to provide information to the community on the district’s potential departure from the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative.

The board of education recently approved a resolution requesting the district’s departure from the Cooperative for the 2015-16 school year. The non-binding resolution allows the district to begin conversations with other cooperative members about its potential departure. Cooperative member school districts will still need to vote on whether to allow School District 308 to exit.

School District 308 will host two sessions where administrators will share plans related to the potential departure, and ask clarifying questions. The first forum is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., July 9, in the Oswego East High School auditorium. The second session is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., July 10, in the Southbury Elementary School gymnasium. Both sessions will share the same information.
