PE Teacher Participating in Indoor Track and Field Championships

Jake Winder, Southbury and Long Beach schools' physical education teacher, will be competing on Sunday, March 3 in the pole vault.

One Oswego teacher will be flying high come Sunday, March 3 as he participates in the 2013 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Jake Winder, physical education teacher at both Southbury and Long Beach, will be jumping in the pole vault at the championships.

Winder jumped 17’9” this indoor season to qualify for the meet.

This will be Winder’s last indoor meet of the year. His outdoor season will begin on March 29 at North Central College  with weather permitting. Winder currently competes for the Cardinal Vault Club and trains at North Central College with his dad and brothers.
