Ryder Named Oswego Schools Finance Director

Community Unit School District 308 has filled the top seat in the finance department.

Jeffrey Ryder was named the next director of finance, effective immediately. Before joining School District 308 as the Assistant Director of Finance in July 2013, he served as an accountant for East Aurora School District 131. He said he is looking forward to his new role with School District 308.

“I’m glad to be in this role and appreciate the opportunity to serve the school district,” Ryder said in a press release. “I look forward to working with the staff to increase efficiencies and meet board goals.”

As director of finance, Ryder will be monitoring the district’s food service and transportation funding. He will be coordinating the various school budgets in an effort to better streamline finances between the district’s 23 buildings and administrative center (DAC). He will also be processing the district’s General State Aid and property tax levies.

Ryder received a bachelor’s in business administration degree with a minor in accounting from Loyola University in Chicago. He will earn his master’s degree in business education at Northern Illinois University in 2015. Ryder is also working on attaining his Chief School Business Official designation and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ryder has worked as a controller and senior financial analyst for Central Ink Corporation and as controller for First Care Ambulance. He also has extensive experience addressing large groups on fiscal policies, budgets and course corrections.
