Strategic Planning Task Force Looks to Oswego School District's Future

Draft of plan to be presented at Monday's board of education meeting.

Submitted by Oswego School District 308:

More than 45 district administrators, staff, teachers and parents completed a series of day-long workshops last week to plan for the future growth and development within Community Unit School District 308.

The Strategic Planning Task Force workshops featured open dialogue between community members and district representatives. Additional meetings are scheduled for later this summer and fall.

The group started work in April and will provide the board of education with staff- and community-based input as it develops the next comprehensive strategic plan for the district.

During the meetings, task force members analyzed and discussed data and other information to help them understand trends and deepen their insight and knowledge of both the district and communities served.

“I am pleased with the progress we have made by a task force made up of a diverse group of representatives from our school district,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matthew Wendt. “This is the first step in a multi-month plan that will bring to fruition a long-term strategic plan for the board to consider.”

The next draft of the anticipated strategic plan will be presented to the Board of Education on Monday, June 23.
